A number of Curvegrid’s team members are based in Canada and we had the chance to attend the Blockchain Futurist Conference this year. The conference is one of the biggest blockchain and cryptocurrency events in Canada bringing together some of the most influential people in the industry as well as top-notch speakers from around the world.
Vitalik Buterin, the creator of Ethereum, spoke about the upcoming Ethereum Merge as well as the financial and non-financial benefits of this long-awaited Ethereum event. The expo floor was packed with companies that are innovating on or using blockchain technology giving attendees a chance to see what's new and cutting-edge in this fast-evolving space.
From August 8th to 10th, Untraceable hosted the ETH Toronto Hackathon as part of the event. This three day hackathon invited developers to compete for bounties and challenged them to build new innovations in the industry. The conference hosted a total of 5000 attendees and 500 hackathon participants.
Untraceable also launched UNNY, a real life engagement token that created a fun and interactive way for conference attendees to engage with the events, booths, and panels. This token gamified the space so that attendees could accumulate tokens to unlock prizes. The prizes ranged from snack sized foods, like popcorn or smoothies, to large scale prizes such as tickets for next year's conference and even a helicopter ride for two. (We did not, unfortunately, win the helicopter ride.)
The Blockchain Futurist Conference was full of speakers and experiences for beginners and experts alike looking to learn more about the industry and share their passion for blockchain technology.
