Curvegrid has partnered with Evermore Labs at Devcon Bangkok 2024 and released early support for XRPL EVM Sidechain on MultiBaas middleware to integrate with their platform.
We have debuted our team aloha shirts, which have been sourced secondhand, purchased with crypto, and upcycled by the Curvegrid team. These garments were tagged with Evermore’s NFC chips and integrated with their recommerce app. Once the tag is scanned, it unlocks access to product information, an interactive marketplace for buying and reselling, and a digital closet that allows users to engage with their stored garments.
Evermore: Shaping the Future of Sustainability in Web3
Evermore, co-founded by Robin Lim and Floriane Le Floch, is pioneering a platform that blends fashion and tech through infrastructure powered by Near Field Communication (NFC), QR codes, and blockchain technology.
Their goal is to encourage consumers to engage in circular fashion—a model where garments are reused, resold, or upcycled instead of being discarded. Evermore builds tools for after-sale traceability and services to unlock multiple revenue streams per product for brands. Evermore’s recommerce solution aims to extend the life of previously worn clothing and help reduce textile waste while rewarding consumers and brands that adopt sustainable practices.
Escalating Challenges in the Fashion Industry
Every year, 66% of unused branded items, unworn apparel, and single-use packaging end up in landfills, significantly contributing to environmental degradation. The waste problem can be seen even in the $64 billion promotional item industry, which fuels the mass production of branded goods that often get discarded.
As frequent attendees of large-scale conferences, we’ve seen these issues firsthand which is why we’re supporting Evermore in their mission to drive positive change to the apparel industry. They are addressing these challenges using sustainable initiatives powered by blockchain, and we were thrilled to collaborate with them at Devcon 7 in Bangkok.
How it Works
For brands, Evermore creates a new paradigm of recurring revenue, deeper customer relationships, and insights from products.
For consumers, Evermore provides 1-click access to a marketplace with comprehensive product information.
Evermore’s platform works using several key parts:
- Connected Garment Tags - QR or NFC tags link the physical garment to an NFT that encodes care instructions, supply chain transparency, and plugs the garment into an ecosystem of circular after-sale services.
- After-sale engagement - The Wear to Earn feature allows customers to tap the Evermore Tag to track each wear and unlock brand perks.
- After-sale services - The Evermore Tag can be tapped for 1-click access to resale, repair, rental and recycling.
A Web2 Experience with Web3 Integrations
Evermore partners with sustainable brands everywhere, offering a chance to reach a market of environmentally-conscious consumers, generate after-sale revenue, reward loyal users, and contribute to a more sustainable future.
Although a majority of Evermore’s clients operate in the traditional Web2 space, Evermore’s Web3 background and integrations can bridge brands and consumers who are curious to explore the advantages of blockchain using impactful real-world applications. Through this partnership, we hope to introduce Evermore to a wider community of developers and blockchain enthusiasts.
For blockchain technology, Evermore uses both Polygon as well as Ripple’s new XRPL EVM Sidechain. XRPL EVM Sidechain brings EVM compatibility to XRP Ledger for businesses and projects using EVM libraries and evmOS SDKs. Blockchain integration is supported through Curvegrid’s MultiBaas developer platform, which simplifies and enhances smart contract interactions with on-chain data.
The MultiBaas integration makes it possible for Evermore developers to build and prototype smart contract functionality as well as manage on-chain activities. This allows brands to track their clothing’s lifecycle and consumers to engage with their favorite brands. This blockchain-driven approach adds not only a layer of transparency but also facilitates Evermore’s mission to advance the circular fashion movement through traceability and incentives that promote responsible consumption.
Our Shared Vision
Curvegrid and Evermore are aligned in the pursuit for real world adoption, and we look forward to seeing more organizations harness Web3 to make a positive impact.
“This collaboration connects us to a growing community of eco-conscious Web3 consumers and businesses, and Devcon was a perfect use-case for this,” says Evermore co-founder Robin Lim. “Curvegrid’s blockchain expertise combined with their team’s background in fashion makes this partnership a great fit. We're confident in driving change.” Joint collaborative efforts will continue beyond Devcon, with plans to expand our merch offering in the future.
On the technical side, Floriane highlights the integration’s potential: “Using MultiBaas helped us build Evermore’s core blockchain infrastructure and seamlessly connect to the blockchain. Its multi-chain API and smart contract management tools provide the scalability and interoperability we need to grow. We’re excited to release new features built with MultiBaas and gather user feedback soon.”
William Metcalfe, Curvegrid’s co-founder adds: “We’re here to support Evermore as they focus on developing efficient ways to track the lifecycle of physical goods and enable brands to engage with their customers in a sustainable way. We’re thrilled to be working with them as we continue to build Web3 solutions that make a real impact.”
Evermore is taking meaningful steps to reduce waste and empower their community to make more eco-friendly choices while exploring the transformative potential of blockchain. We’re committed to supporting them in their journey in reshaping the fashion industry.
